Univ.-Prof. Dr. -Ing. Andreas Hein was born in 1971 in Altdöbern, Germany. He studied Technical Computer Science and received his first degree as Dipl.-Ing. in 1997 from the Technical University Berlin (TU), with subject of specialization: Robotics and real-time data processing. He continued. He got his PhD in 2000 at the Charité – Campus Virchow, Humboldt-University Berlin in the subject of Temperature-dependent Effects in Therapy and Diagnosis. He then worked as Group manager at the Division of Navigation and Robotics (Prof. Dr. Tim Lüth) at the Charité – Campus Virchow, Humboldt-University Berlin in the years 2000 – 2001. Between 2001-2003 he was appointed Head of Division at the Fraunhofer Institute of Production Systems and Construction Technologies (IPK), Department Assistant Systems in Medicine. Since 2003 he is Professor (C3) at the Faculty II of the Carl-von-Ossietzky-University Oldenburg, Head of the Division of Automation and Measurement Technologies (AMT).
