• Born on March 12, 1951, she graduates the Faculty of General Medicine in Bucharest, in 1976, first in her year, with Honorary Diploma. Postdoctoral Research Grant in Cardiology in Toulouse, France (CHU Rangueil) granted by the French Government, in 1990, when she completes her PhD. Diploma of the “Paul Sabatier” Toulouse University in “Noninvasive Investigations in Cardiology” (1991-1993).
• Specialist in Internal Medicine (1982) and Specialist Doctor in Cardiology ( 1992). Primary Doctor (Consultant) in Internal Medicine (1990) and Primary Doctor in Cardiology (1996). Transthoracic Echocardiography Board Certification (1993) and Transesophageal Echocardiography (2000). Competence in Public Health Management (2005).
• Academic member of the staff of the Faculty of General Medicine of “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest since 1979, she becomes Professor of Internal Medicine and Cardiology in 1998.
• Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Cardiology in the Emergency Clinical Hospital of Bucharest starting from 1999.
• Director of the Research Center of Excellency “Research center for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular emergencies”, since 2005.
• Professional assignments: Secretary of the Hy pertension Working Group of the Romanian Society of Cardiology (1993-2002), Vice-President of the Romanian Society of Cardiology (2000-2002), President of the Hy pertension Working Group of the Romanian Society of Cardiology (2002-2005), Member in the Board of the Romanian Society of Cardiology (from 1998), President of the Bucharest Section of the Romanian Society of Cardiology (2002-2005), Vice-President of the Bucharest Medical College (since 1990), Member of the National Committee of Cardiology of the Romanian Minister of Health (since 2000)
• Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (since 1998), European Specialist of the European Society of Hy pertension (since 2004), Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (since 2005);
• Author of more than 450 pa pers and textbooks of Cardiology and Internal Medicine, some of them granted with prestigious awards;
• Ex pert for grants evaluations for: Romanian Academy – Medical Sciences Section , CNCSIS, National Drug Agency, European Society of Sciences
• Member in the editing committee of national and international journals of` Cardiology and Editor Chief for „Journal of American College of Cardiology – Romania”;
• Director and investigator for many national and international research studies and grants;
• Married, with two sons, 31 and 28 years old, both medical doctors.
