ALTEC Research Programmes Division from 2000 has been developing innovative middleware solutions based on XML and Application Integration Standards such as CORBA and JAVA RMI for integrating ALTEC enterprise applications (Atlantis, Xline) with 3rd party.

From 2003 and in collaboration with University of Sunderland, ALTEC Research Programmes Division started an internal self funded research in order to develop an Enterprise Application Integration Solution. Ontology based ENterprise Application IntegRation (ONAR) Framework combines Semantic Web Technologies and state of the art Enterprise Application Integration becoming a solution for:

• Custom Application Integration
• Enterprise Application Integration
• B2B Application Integration
• A2A Application Integration (e-Government)

The usage of Semantic Web Methodologies for creating Semantics in order to support an integration centric approach for the definition of integration components and the exploitation of the state of the art Service Oriented Technologies enabled ONAR to become an efficient a effective solution for Application Integration.
