Service Oriented Architecture

Service Oriented Architecture is the new approach for developing and integrating information systems. Following the notion Software as a Service (SaaS) and exploiting web standard for interoperability (WS-I), SOA sets new rules for application development.

ALTEC Research Programmes Division has participated in several research projects that used and promoted SOA as the main methodology for designing developing applications. ALTEC Research Programmes Division invested in the combined used of Web Services, UDDI and Web 2.0 techniques in order to provide innovative solutions to the demands of the market.

Altec Research Programmes Division gained expertise in developing Web Services and Semantic Web Services in several EU founded projects and used this knowledge to develop the ONAR (a Service Oriented Application Integration (SOAI) framework based on Semantic Web technologies such as Web Ontologies).

ALTEC expertise includes:
  • Developing SOA applications
  • Redesigning and restructuring legacy system based on SOA
  • Service Oriented Application Integration (SOAI).
  • Web 2.0 Portal development.
